Industrial Finishing Services

IFS was founded in 1996 with the goal to provide manufacturers with the best coating services available. By investing in multiple coating technologies IFS can offer the right coating – period! We can discuss the advantages of each process and which will be right for your product. Your finished product may involve parts with different coating requirements, let IFS be your source. We can combine scheduling, quality control, and shipping to make the manufacturing process simpler.

See for yourself the benefits of the latest in industrial coating technology. Then, contact us to discuss which coating is right for your product.

Powder Coat
  Powder Coatings

The basics of powder coating is the spraying of a charged mixture of finely ground particles and resin onto an electrically grounded surface. The coated item is then heated in a curing oven until the powder mixture is fused into a uniform, smooth and durable finish.

Powder Coating Advantages

  • High resistance to chipping, fading, scratches and wear
  • Excellent color durability
  • Large selection of colors, gloss levels
  • Availability of metallic and clear finishes
  • Environmentally sensible – A no solvent process with very low levels of volatile organic solvents, overspray can be retrieved and recycled

  Class A Liquid Coatings

Liquid coating is traditionally thought of as the high-risk spray booth painting technique. Not any more. Today, liquid coating technology includes high-solids, low-solvent formulations combined with better filtration systems and computer controls. Liquid coating still offers unparalleled features for finish, substrate adhesion, variety of substrates and chemical resistance.

Liquid Coating Advantages

  • Good chemical and stain resistance
  • High gloss and flexible finishes possible
  • Excellent adhesive properties
  • Applicable to a wide variety of substrates – including plastics, composites and metals
  • Multiple coat capable wet on wet or base/clear

  Electrocoat

IFS employs the cathodic electocoating process, where the part to be painted is negatively charged to attract the positively charged paint particles. Cathodic coatings have high-performance characteristics of reduced amount of iron in the cured paint film, excellent corrosion resistance and high durability.

Electrocoat Advantages

  • The ability to evenly coat complex surfaces
  • Excellent control of film uniformity
  • Elimination of runs, drips and sags
  • Environmentally sensible – low or no hazardous air pollutants, low levels of organic solvents and free of heavy metals
  • Transfer efficiency rates of 95-99% of the coating materials
  • High throughput capacity allows for faster coating of more items
